FOLLOW ALONG TO HEAR THE TRIUMPHANT STORY OF OUR LATE BELOVED CASH

Cash’s journey began with boundless energy, a year-old pup who loved to leap and dash. But one day, his world shifted. A critical spinal injury sent him to the Emergency ICU, where he spent five tense days. When the vets finally released him, they handed me a fragile pup and a heavy burden—though they didn’t say it, they didn’t believe he’d walk again. 

In those early weeks, Cash relied entirely on me. I carried him everywhere, even learning to express his bladder—a labor of love for my loyal friend. His once-vivacious spirit shone through, even as his body betrayed him. Little by little, his front legs found strength. Watching him ‘army crawl’ across the grass was both heartbreaking and inspiring. 

With a sling to support his hind legs, I let him explore the backyard. His nose twitched at the familiar scents of the outdoors, and his desire to explore were signs that his fight wasn’t over. Every day became a mission: endless hours of physio sessions, gentle massage therapy, and encouragement. Three times a week, we traveled to the underwater treadmill, where he found a rhythm in the buoyancy. We even worked with a cranial sacral therapist to soothe his nervous system. 

Six months later, Cash was on his feet, his movements wobbly but triumphant. He walked like a drunken sailor, his determination keeping him upright. His progress inspired everyone who met him. 

This was only the beginning. Therapy, medical appointments, and love carried us forward. Cash taught me resilience, the power of persistence, and how to celebrate every small victory. His journey wasn’t just about walking again—it was about reclaiming his spirit, proving that with enough hope and heart, miracles can happen. Together, we marched forward, one wobbly step at a time. 

As we celebrate his recent passing, I want to share with you his journey, hardships, successes, and inspiration for our family, and of course, his enduring love.
